Macbook Pro Beeping 3 Times How To Fix
Hi
I have a Macbook Pro 13' Mid 2012. Yesterday when I went to turn it on it started beeping 3 times, so after scanning this board I realised it was an issue with the RAM. I removed and reset the Ram but still 3 beeps. I took out the top 2GB ram and it turned on, I then swapped the 2nd RAM with the 1st in the bottom socket and it started up again. I then tried to start up with RAM in only the top socket, it then beeped 3 times. I am assuming from this the top socket has suddenly become faulty. I can't see any debris or damage. Is the top socket likely to suddenly become faulty? I have some WD-40 Fast Drying Contact cleaner but I didn't to start spraying that around without checking.
Am I best to just order a compatible 4gb single ram and run it in the bottom slot or take it to a local computer repair shop? It's second hand and 2 yrs old.
Also I replaced the Hard Drive for a SSD about 2 weeks ago due to start up issues with the existing hard drive (it wouldn't boot up after a failed Maverick update and wouldn't allow format or fresh install in recovery/first aid mode) are these 2 issues related or just a run of bad luck?
Thanks for any help in advance
